Overview

A green, established corner of southern KL

Taman Desa (Chinese: 郊外岭) is a mature residential neighbourhood in the south-west of Kuala Lumpur, just off Jalan Klang Lama (Old Klang Road) and adjacent to Taman Seputeh, Pantai Dalam and Salak South. Developed from the early 1970s, it has grown into one of the city's quietly desirable addresses — leafy streets, low-rise terraces and villas alongside a new generation of high-rise condominiums.

Its appeal is a rare mix: a calm, green residential feel that sits only minutes from Mid Valley City, Bangsar and the KL core, threaded by a web of expressways and served by nearby KTM and MRT rail. The Taman Danau Desa pocket, anchored by the landmark Faber Towers, is the area's livelier dining-and-shopping hub.

Food & dining

One of KL's best-kept food enclaves

Taman Desa punches far above its size for food — from old-school kopitiams and zi char to cafés, dessert bars and late-night supper spots, much of it clustered around Jalan Desa and the Danau Desa / Faber Towers strip.

🍜

Local & hawker

Classic coffee-shop breakfasts, noodle stalls, nasi lemak and zi char dinners — the everyday backbone of Taman Desa eating.

Cafés & brunch

A steady wave of independent cafés and brunch spots gives the neighbourhood a relaxed, modern social scene.

🌃

Supper & dessert

Taman Danau Desa is the area's after-dark hub for supper, dessert and mamak — busy well past midnight.
